For the second book I read from the summer reading list, I chose Crash, by Jerry Spinelli. The basic plot of this book is pretty simple, A football player named John “Crash” Coogan was playing pranks on this kid Penn Webb ever since he moved in down the street in first grade, but now in seventh grade, while he’s a fullback and Penn is a cheerleader, Crash starts to realize who his real friends are, so by the end of the book, Crash’s best friend is Penn Webb and Mike Deluca, his old friend who takes a prank too far, is left out in the dust. Random TitleThe Chocolate WarRandom Title
The first book I read on the summer reading list was The Chocolate War, by Robert Cormier. The book is about a boy named Jerry Renault, a student at Trinity High School, he was given an assignment from the vigils, a school organization which gives students various assignments, to decline the chocolates from the upcoming chocolate sale for ten days, after the ten days were up, he still refused to not accept the chocolates, sooner or later the students start to get angry, and soon a war, Jerry vs. The entire school, breaks out. Soon Jerry starts getting beat up, silent treatments, and menacing phone calls.
